I cannot see any reason that a literature survey course should side-step the methods of Leibniz contra Newton.

How is it that we ascribe ‘calculus’ to Newton whilst we use Leibniz’s form?

Literary surveys always seem to be self-conscribed, like an old lady that hugs herself too closely.

How can a western lit survey not include Newton … and Galton (the eugenicist babe)?

Is there not a body to whom we might appeal?!
